A Message from Colleen McNally
Marketing Manager for Palmer Homes
In today’s convenient age of technology, I have often
found that website management and updating is far from
convenient. So many times, website management is too technical,
too cumbersome, and too intimidating for those without the
“techie” gene. Disasters, less-than-stellar sites
and higher-than-expected costs are the results of many
scenarios.
I found Center Stage to be a welcome alternative as it is not
typical web management. It allows those of us who are not so
technically-minded to easily update and manage our own sites.
Alpine Internet worked like feverish demons to get Palmer Homes
a web site that worked for us as well as one that we could work
with, literally. It is a database-oriented site on which we can
regularly edit our home listings, information and images as
needed as well as generate leads for our sales force.
What does that really mean? It means we don’t have to
call the graphic designer, the IT person or the web designer
each time we need to make a change to our site. Our site allows
us to grow and add new information as needed.
It also means that our website is a working extension of our
sales force, allowing our customers to easily interact with us
and generating leads. In the home development business of
Central Oregon where the pace is hyper-speed and the
competition high, this is a huge advantage. Additions, edits
and deletions are just a few steps versus a few phone calls
plus a few days.
One other area that we are happy with is the flexibility of the
site. In real estate, a good website presence is critical to
any successful marketing campaign. Our site reflects our
current campaign, and we know that when the day comes to change
to a new campaign, our site is flexible enough and can be
adapted with new graphics and look, but still run off the
existing database. This is a big plus for we don’t have
to re-invent the wheel nor are we looking at a major expense
and time for an overhaul.
My experience with the team at Alpine was very positive. They
offered their expertise while also respecting my own experience
and knowledge. When we were challenged by a situation, it was
truly a team effort and they always made sure the solutions met
Palmer Homes’ objectives. The graphic design on their
part was excellent and set a foundation that I could follow.
Our project was complicated and could have been daunting to
some. But the Alpine folks explained all in layman’s
terms and broke down timelines for ease of understanding. I
felt they truly appreciated my input and efforts as much as I
appreciated theirs. And they’re pretty fun to be around,
too.
All in all, our website represents our product effectively,
informs our customers and helps facilitate sales and we are
very pleased with it. And from the comments we receive, so are
our customers.
