How soon can I publish the website?

A website can be published as soon as Alpine administrators activate the account. Send an email to:

The administrators activate the account and contact you during business hours.


Why do my changes not show up in the preview?

When you make a change and click Preview, the change does not display. To view a change, click Refresh.

 

Why can I not edit new pages?

When pages are added, they are automatically designated as “Under Construction” and have no editable values. Click the page modifier on the far right and select the desired page. The edit icon displays next to the page name and the page is now editable.

 

Can I use my Macintosh computer to edit the pages?

No. At this time, PC-based operating systems can only be used to edit the pages. The WYSIWIG editor cannot be used. You can pick designs and most everything else on the Macintosh operating system. Also, multiple types of browsers can be used.

 

How do I upload images?

Images are very easy to upload. The caution in uploading images is the sizing. Create standard image sizes when possible. It helps with the overall look and design of the web page. Following are the common sizes:
· 400 x 420 – Standard (This is a common size for main images.)
· 120 x 120 – Thumbnail
· 64 x 64 – Icon
Page Editor
The page editor has an icon on the toolbar that looks like a framed picture of a mountain.

Click the icon to view another menu with more options. The image has to have a source. The source is the location of an image file that is already uploaded, or if not, click Upload from this menu:

The Upload button enables browsing the computer for any file to upload. To select it once it is uploaded, click the file in the list and click Insert.
Note: It is not recommended to select an image with the Shop Page Wizard. It can be confusing.

Shop Wizard

The Shop Wizard is for E-commerce customers only. (As stated previously, it is not recommended to use Shop Page Wizard to select images.)
Is there any place I can put another email address for my account?
There can be only one email address associated with an account, which is used for email orders within E-commerce. However, more than one email address can be specified on the website.

 

When I create links, they show up correctly in the code both in the editor and as a "view source”.  Why do they not go to the correct place?

There is a bug with creating a new link. If http:// is not appended to the front of the link, it automatically adds the domain for this site to the front. For example, if www.alpineinternet.com is entered as the link in the editor for the website www.inclimb.com, it directs to the link http://www.inclimb.com/www.alpineinternet.com, which is incorrect. Always append http:// to the front of all links.
